Yes, you’re coming to the end of another year and even if you’ve been good all year long, your food choices began to change around October. Halloween brought in the chocolate and although it was suppose to be for the children that show up at your door, your fingers couldn’t pass over the bowl without sampling the contents.
November brings in the traditional Thanksgiving meal and if your house is anything like my mother’s used to be, there were about 6 pies, 3 cakes and homemade ice cream for after the main course.
Now we’re into December and between Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanza, for most of you it will be a replay of Thanksgiving dinner. Food, glorious food!!
Moving Your Body For A Healthier New You

Doesn’t have to be! Steppin, the electric slide and salsa can become your best friends over the next few months but you can begin NOW!
There’s nothing like getting your grove on, so why not make it pay off by helping you drop a few pounds and tone up your muscles and not be boring in the process.
Some of you might want to add swimming and walking to your regimen. And for the daring or more adventurous ones of you, give pole dancing a try. I’m sure your audience of “one” will love your moves.
Eating Your Way To A Healthier New You
If you start “Today” by eating more green foods and cutting back on your sugar intake, you’ll be ahead of the game. I know, with office parties and after office parties I must be out of my mind. Not really!
The old message used to be: let’s workout in order to lose the extra few pounds that showed up uninvited during the holiday season. The new message is: to eat for the sake of maintaining a healthy body and cutting the risk of heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.
With the introduction of fast foods into our diet, as a nation, African Americans have eaten their way into poor health. Processed, high in salt and sugar not to mention a shelf or freezer life of up to 5 years, this road has taken a turn into poor health, dull skin and dry and brittle hair.
The foods you eat should be to nourish your body not break it down. And the more you eat foods that nourish your body, the better you will look and feel.
Don’t Wait …
Start your new eating and exercise program today, By January, you’ll begin to see a “New You” looking back at you from the mirror.
