Weight Loss, Exercise and Your Beautiful Black SkinWeight Loss?! It’s A New Year & A New You!  How’s that coming along?  Did you stick to your guns and have half a slice of red velvet cake during the holidays or did you do like I did and bake oatmeal raisin walnut cookies and enjoy the heck out of them?

Ok, I’m not the best example on this one but I did balance things off by getting on my elliptical  and working out the next morning.  So I maintained and didn’t completely throw my plan out the window.

Weight Loss, Exercise and Your Skin.  Got Any Plans?

So, what is my plan?  I’ve decided to make this a year of looking great image wise and feeling fabulous health wise.  My goal is to loose ten pounds, what’s yours?  You might want to loose twenty pounds, have you mapped it out for the year.  If you take the weight loss goal in small chunks, you’re certain to reach your goal.  Twenty pounds in one year, Ok, that’s 52 weeks divided by 20.  What do we get?  That’s 2.6 pounds a week … You Can Do It!

How will you do it?  You’ll schedule an exercise plan that fits you and your lifestyle.  I don’t know what excites you but you do.  If you don’t like the gym, don’t go.  It will only make your plan become a chore and you’ll dread every minute of your workout.  If you love Steppin,  swimming,  salsa,  pole dancing or you’ve got a walking partner that will meet you at six o’clock morning or evening, then take this route because this is how you will accomplish your goal of loosing 2.6 pounds a week.

Add strength training to your regimen and you’ll get the benefits of toned and strong muscles.

Weight Loss and A Meal Plan Go Hand-n-Hand

Weight Loss, Exercise and Your Beautiful Black SkinLet’s not get things twisted, you’ve got to have a meal plan to accomplish this as well.  No fried foods, no white foods, no alcohol.  How many of you are still with me?    But you can have all of the green foods you want, some fruits (even though it’s natural sugar, it’s still sugar), some carbs and fish or chicken.  Will you stick with this regimen?  Some of you will and some of you won’t.  The important thing is to have a plan, work your plan and don’t beat yourself up if you venture off with a meal or two.

Did you know that too much sugar in your blood stream can give your skin a lack luster appearance?  In some women, sugar can be the cause of those personal summers (hot flashes) that you experience.

The most important component of your regimen is water.  Water will not only keep you from dehydrating, it will help move waste and other toxins through your colon and out of your body.  This ultimately give your skin a radiant and luxurious appearance.

After all, isn’t that part of your goal, to have a flawless complexion and flaunt it.  Eating right and exercise will help you accomplish this.  That’s it for this week.  As always …
