There were things like Lard.  Typically Lard (pork fat) was used to cook with. Well … if it came Sunday morning and there was no cream, a small amount of lard would be used to oil your body down. Face included.

Summer months brought in floral scented flour. Yes, dried rose petals, were often placed into a jar with flour. The flour became infused with the scent of the rose and applied to your body as if it were body powder. It absorbed any sweat that you produced.

Creams for Your Face

In today’s language, creams are often referred to as moisturizers. They can be for morning and/or night use. Typically night time moisturizers are thicker /heavier in texture than a daytime moisturizer. Your skin is nourished and nurtured at night based on the product you use.

Daytime creams/moisturizers are typically lighter in texture. Some serums are put in this category because of their creamy texture.

Mask for Your Face

Facial mask. You’ve seen them in an array of colors and consistency. Remember the green clay mask that everyone used to wear? Clay mask are in essence, for oily skin. Therefore, if you have dry skin, you’re stripping the little oil that’s left, out.

So why would you use a mask? Depending on the mask, it can help in deep cleansing your pores and removing dead skin cells. This also helps with fine lines and wrinkles.
