This weekend was a back to basics weekend.  I started this business because of the tremendous stress of dealing with the death of both my parents.  At the time I didn’t know that it would be given birth too but as life would have it, you never know what you’re going to get.

One of the ways, the main way, that I used to releive stress was to take a long soak in the tub.  People often say to me “but I don’t have a spa tub”.  AND, this is always my kirt answer.  You don’t need a spa tub, all you need is a space that you can immerse  your body into and surround it by water.  For me it was the bath tub.  I was just looking for a place that I could go and not be disturbed.

It became a habit.  A Good Habit!  I eventually added candles and drops of essential oils.  When I first began my ritual, I was so stressed that I forgot to turn on the water.  I kid you not.  I found myself sitting in the bath tub with no water.  What an awakening.

The main ingredient was epsom salt and sea salt.  My Nana taught me that You should always have some of that in your house for sore muscles.  To this day my bathroom is stocked with epsom salt and sea salt.  Eventually, I learned how to scent the salts depending on my moods.  If I needed to be uplifted, I’d use orange oil, for relaxing I’d create a blend that gave me that feeling.

The Simple Life was the theme for this past weekend and simple it was.  I created my own spa oasis, treated myself to hot baths, luxurious oils and body butters that made my skin feel soft as a baby’s bottom.

Why don’t you do the same?  Make this weekend your Simple Life Weekend and treat your beautiful black skin to a weekend of taking care of You!
