Style icon. What a week! Michelle Obama had everyone holding his or her breath in anticipation of what she’d wear for the swearing in ceremony for her husband President Barack Obama.
Did she rise to the occasion? Did she give you wow factor or did she give you, Oh, Okay?
Well, regardless of what we think, FLOTUS (First Lady of The United States) floated in and gave us her version of style the entire day.
Did you notice the build up during the week before the inauguration? First the introduction of the “Bangs” did she actually look younger or was it just another way of styling her hair?
It’s the day of the inauguration and finally the morning ensemble débuts, how did you like the look? An A-line dress with matching coat in a pattern inspired by a silk tie, what did you think? What about the shoes? Did you like the light gray pump with the navy patterned coat and dress?
The luncheon gave us one of her signature pieces, the little shrug to cover her arms, what did you think?
Then there’s the infamous walk down Pennsylvania Ave, in the custom-made navy suede boots, were they to die for? Oops, almost forgot, a little light was added to the waist with a jeweled belt, yes … no?
How many of you stayed up waiting to see what Mrs. O would give us as her ball gown choice? Were you in awe by her choice or did you go … really?
Guess what? It doesn’t matter what any of us think about anything she’s worn, she’s the captain of her own fashion ship.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like everything that’s in my own closet. We all outgrow styles and pieces that we’ve chosen and liked at one time for some reason.
At the time they were great only to become a piece that get’s labeled, “what was I thinking when I bought this”?
Another outfit and another ball gown has gone down in history. You’ve got four more years to see what FLOTUS will give you in the realm of beauty, style and fashion.
