We’ve moved the clocks forward to gain a little more light at the end of the day and not only are you shedding sweaters and coats, you’ve been shedding skin.

The shedding of skin that you’re seeing are dead skin cells that have layered themselves on top of each other throughout the cold months, because you just didn’t feel like exfoliating.

Time To Exfoliate Your Beautiful Black Skin

It’s time to remove all of the dead skin build up, so that you can see the beautiful glow of the skin,  that you’ve been walking around in for the past 6 months all covered up.

One way to do that is to exfoliate your body. Exfoliating is a process, in which you are removing the dead skin cells that have accumulated on your entire body and that happens from head to toe.

When you take a look at the process and procedure of exfoliating your skin from your décolleté, which comes right above your breast line and continue up into your neck and face, this part of the body is going to be treated with a different product than that of the rest of your body.

Your face is going to receive a gentle exfoliation even if you suffer from dry skin.  Yes you might have more of a challenge in terms of flakiness and build up, but you still don’t want to over manipulate your skin or have it over manipulated.

If so you’re going to have an even greater challenge. So something with a nice jojoba wax bead, would be a good way to exfoliate your skin and remove the dead skin cells.

There are certain products that are made from pumpkin but that’s something you’ll want to test first. If it’s done in a professional environment, the skin care therapist will know to test the pumpkin enzyme or masks on a given section of your skin to determine whether or not there are any allergies.

Home Care Treatments

Once you cleanse and tone, you can move forward by having a nice steam and applying the mask of pumpkin for 10 minutes and then removing it with a nice cloth.

You will see a beautiful glow take place on your skin.

As for your lower body you can use a body butter scrub but not something that’s going to be overly abrasive. A good Shea butter based body butter scrub is going to be a product that you’ll want to look for. Why?  Because it will not only exfoliate your skin and remove the dead skin cells, it will moisturize at the same time.

Shea butter is an oil-based product.  And if you have a Shea butter body scrub with a jojoba wax bead, turbinado sugar or sea salt combination, you can experience the exfoliation process while the oil is also moisturizing your skin.

These are just 2 examples of products that can be used to remove the dead skin cell layers.

Another way of having the process done is to take a hand mitt. It’s a one-piece glove and you put your hand in it and when you get into the shower allowing the water to build a steam, take that mitt and start rubbing your skin and you’ll begin to see your skin lighten up because those layers of dead skin cells are going to come to the surface.

My First Professional Body Scrub

Years ago when I first had this service professionally done, I thought “Oh my she used some type of herb to extract and remove all of the dead skin cells” but what I was seeing was the cells themselves.

They balled up like little fine specs and those were the dead skin cells that had come off my body.

A good full body scrub is one of those things you’ll want to have done for your skin.  Why?  Because when you exfoliate you remove blockages of dead cells, which allow new cells to come through.

And when new cells come through to the top surface of your skin, this is when you’ll see that glow to your skin.

Sooo …

In your treatment for yourself as you move into the warmer seasons, a good body exfoliation whether it’s for your face and the rest of you is something that should be added to your weekly black skin care regimen
