Carrot Masque to Rejuvenate Your Skin in Colder Temps

The cooler temperatures are becoming a part of each day and your skin could be in trouble.  I don’t know about you but the water is reeking havoc on my skin. I looked in the mirror and it seemed as though I’d applied some white paste to my face.   Scared myself!

Sometimes referred to as Dr Wind and Jack Frost, these two brothers are stirring up conditions that can cause your skin to become cracked, ashy and gray in appearance.  And let’s not forget their cousin Stress Man that can have blotches popping up on your skin and have you wondering what the heck is this.

During the winter months people bundle up to protect themselves from the harsh elements.  But the most sensitive area of your skin, your face, is often left exposed.  It becomes the perfect target for the cold wind, the dry indoor air and the icy temperatures that suck the moisture from your skin.

How would you treat your skin and give it a chance to survive through the colder temps.  A nice facial masque made with things right in your own kitchen will give you a fighting chance.

If you were to get this facial in a salon, depending on its location, you’d have to pay between $65 and $130 dollars for this treatment.

But you can pull this off on a Saturday morning  while you pamper yourself creating your own spa oasis.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 carrot
2 tablespoons of honey
4 drops of vitamin E oil
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
oat flour

medium sized bowl
large spoon

combine the cooked and mashed carrots into the medium sized bowl.  Add the honey, vitamin E oil and aloe vera gel.

Mix the ingredients in the bowl until it forms a thick orange paste.  If the mixture appears too thin, add a small amount of oat flour.  It will act as a thickening agent.

Apply this mask in a thick even coat across your face and let it sit for about 30 minutes.

After you remove the mask your face should feel moisturized and rejuvenated.  It will appear more toned and firm and ready for round 2 against the elements.

Facials that are done using carrots can help to nourish and replenish your skin.
