For a countless number of you, puffy eyes are a daily occurrence when you first wake up, and it usually calms down throughout the day. For others, the puffiness is constant, making you look tired and unhealthy.

Among the more obvious reasons for puffiness include having a cold, crying, and allergies. When it comes to allergies, they can be triggered by anything from dust to seasonal changes. It’s been noted more than once that swollen eyes are more common than a stuffy nose in many allergy cases. Problems within our nose and sinus cavities can restrict proper blood flow and become the source of the issue.
Puffy eyes can also be linked to allergies you may not know you have. For instance, makeup can sometimes be the culprit that causes a bad reaction. The swelling it causes in your eye area is your body’s response to the ingredients in the product. Speaking of makeup, it is usually of little benefit when it comes to puffy eyes. Made popular by widespread opinions and tests, these methods have been shown to be effective to an extent.
There are other creams sold in stores that are made for skin around the eyes, even hemorrhoid creams have been said to reduce shrinkage. Yet, these creams are not always a healthy choice because the ingredients they contain can cause reactions and other problems, especially for users with very sensitive skin.
Head to your kitchen for tea bags that contain the caffeine that aids in proper blood flow and calms inflammation. Sliced cucumbers over the eyes work because they have antioxidant properties that cleanse and heal skin. Be sure the cucumbers are cold because this will help to lessen any eye irritation. Placing the bowls of a cold spoon underneath your eyes relieve swelling by constraining blood vessels. Massage beneath the eyes with the cold spoon for desirable effects that will work well when recovering from a long night or preparing for an important event.
Unfortunately, there is a catch to these cures. They are a temporary fix that must be done often and usually does not have long-term effects. Surgery is a more permanent choice to tighten the skin above and below the eyes, but it doesn’t have to be your final resort to diminish under eye bags.
Seek a more permanent solution.
