How to Use Pine Needles For Awesome Health and Well-beingPine needles, I forgot just how awesome they are. Mind you, my house sits surrounded by pine and oak trees. Because of this global pandemic, everything we read is about building your immune system. My daughter reminded me of a sign she saw while visiting a client before the pandemic set in.

It was simple. It stated “Drink Pine Straw Tea to Boost Your Immune”. We had a good laugh and then thought, this is a reminder to get even closer to nature. As natural and clean as we live, simple things can be overlooked.

Benefits of Pine Needles

Pine needles are a good source of vitamin A. It’s an antioxidant that’s essential for healthy vision, skin and hair regeneration as well as the production of red blood cells.

Pine needles are considered to have several times more vitamin C than fresh squeezed orange juice. Because of the high concentration of antioxidants, the needles are recognized as being a potent immune booster.

When used in aromatherapy, Pine Essential oil is known to impact your mood by clearing your mind of stress, energizing your body to help minimize fatigue, boost concentration and promote a healthy outlook.

Used topically, it helps soothe itchiness, inflammation and dryness on your skin. It’s also been known to slow the appearance of signs of aging and enhance circulation.

Apply it to your hair, and it’s said to enhance the natural shine, contribute moisture and protect your scalp from dandruff and lice.

Pine Needle Tea for Health and Wellness

A stated above pine needles are a rich source of vitamin A and C. What happens when you turn them into tea?

• For starters they have a pleasant taste and smell.
• Have been known to bring relief to conditions such as heart disease, skin challenges and fatigue.
• Bring clarity and mental clearness.
• Known to help with depression, allergies and blood pressure.
• Pine needles contain antioxidants, therefore, they’re believed to reduce free radicals that can cause disease.
• Is known to help your immune system.

How To make:

Boil a kettle of water and pour over your pine needles.
Leave them to infuse

Strain and serve

A good rule of thumb is to avoid flat needle trees.

There are no promises. However, you might see less wrinkles and feel more energetic after having a few cups.

Enjoy!

That’s it for this week. As always…
