Protect Your Skin From Sun Damage

• Wear sunscreen daily, with an SPF of 30 or higher

• Avoid direct sunlight when possible. Find yourself some  shade and wear a hat

• Apply a moisturizer with sunscreen to keep skin hydrated and protected

Cleanse Gently

• Look for a gentle cleanser that’s free of harsh ingredients

• Cleanse twice daily; once in the morning and once at night

• Use lukewarm water rather than hot water to avoid drying out your skin

• Stop using harsh exfoliants, they can irritate the skin

Moisturize Regularly

• Apply a moisturizer with SPF after you cleanse your face

• Choose a moisturizer designed for melanin-rich skin with natural ingredients

• Keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using a body lotion

Eat A Nutritious Diet

• Eat real, unprocessed foods whenever possible

• Fill up on fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants

• Minimize or stop using sugar, refined carbohydrates, and unhealthy fats

• Choose foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals, such as berries, nuts, and seeds. The type of berries, nuts and seeds to consider are : blackberries, walnuts, flaxseed.

Stay Active

• Exercise regularly to boost circulation and keep skin looking its best

• Increase your activity level with activities such as walking, running, swimming, biking, or any other type of low-impact exercise that you enjoy

• A goal of at least 30 minutes of activity per day is a good start.

Get Plenty Of Rest

• Try and get eight hours of sleep every night

• Take time to relax during the day

• Do your best to avoid caffeine and alcohol before bedtime to help you get a better night’s rest

Summing Things Up …

By following these steps, you can help keep your melanin-rich skin blemish free in the summer heat. Always remember to wear sunscreen, cleanse gently, moisturize regularly, eat a nutritious diet, and get plenty of rest. With a little care and attention, keeping up with these habits will help you maintain healthy, glowing skin all year round.
