How do you find peace in a COVID driven world? Every time you think things are changing for the better, a wrench from out of the blue seems to come sailing out of nowhere. Or is it?

You’re told to social distance, yet you take risk everyday just to bring food into your home. Stepping into a grocery, big box or pharmacy store, is like walking into a hazmat zone.

Let’s face it, you have no clue who’s been in before you and let out a big whopper of a sneeze or cough and left their germs to marinate on top of all the surfaces. Yuck!

Where’s the Peace in These Scenarios?

You could have your items delivered. Would that create a level of peace? Except, you don’t know who’s packing up your goods. Then there are those of you that use these outings as a way to feel normalcy is returning.

You get to see real people aside from those you watch on Netflix, YouTube or the morning news. Real people! The ones you used to talk about when you saw them in spandex pants that clearly didn’t belong in their wardrobe.

Now you relish in having something familiar to remember. That makes you feel as though things are “returning to normal”. There’s a certain Peace in that feeling.

Finding Peace in Caring for Yourself

Without this all important piece of the puzzle, there is no peace to be found in your life. Taking care of yourself is the one sure way to find peace in a COVID driven world.

Some of you refer to self care as escaping the madness and blocking off time to be in a quiet space all to yourself. By all means, find a way to escape the madness. Your skin and hair will thank you for it.

Did you know that the pressure of trying to keep your sanity can bring untold stress on to your skin and hair. COVID is so upsetting and unsettling, until it has rendered some of you frozen in fear.

You need to step outside your house/dwelling and feel the sun beaming down on your skin. You need that level of real vitamin D. If you’re a city dweller and have a fire escape, use it to sit in the sun.

That same space can become your garden of Eden. Surround yourself with potted plants, inside and outside. This brings a level of oxygen into your space.

How to Find Peace in a COVID Driven World?

This is where the tried and true things we know to bring peace, take front and center.

Meditation – this form of quiet time will help you become centered and focused. It will help you go inward and find your sacred truth.

Exercise will help you find balance and tranquility. Whether is the elliptical, a yoga class, Tai chi or kettle bells, you’ll be able to release built up anxiety and tension.

Rest and Relaxation will help you keep your mind and body in balance. When you aren’t able to relax or get proper rest, you run the risk of breaking down your immune system. This puts everything you’ve been working for in jeopardy.

So … How Do You Find Peace in a COVID Driven World?

When you make your sanity and safety top priority, everything else will fall into place.
Don’t deviate … schedule your exercise and meditation time. Get your rest and find ways to relax when chaos seems to be creeping up on you.
