It’s official! The wedding season is underway. With one of the most anticipated weddings of the year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are very soon to be husband and wife.
While you may not be getting married at St. George’s Chapel, with millions of people watching, it doesn’t take away any of the stress you are experiencing.
This means you should get rid of any distractions from your life leading up to your Big Day. This includes family and friends … did I mention family. You’ve got enough to contend with and distractions should not be on your list.
Those distractions could turn your skin into a showcase of pimples and breakouts. This is not something you need or want on your wedding day or any other day for that matter. So what’s a girl to do?!
No day should begin without a skin care regimen. For the blushing bride to be, you really have to mindful of how you take care of your skin, so your regimen should really begin a year before your wedding.
This time line gives you an opportunity to test products and see what provides you with the best results for your skin. You’re already under stress planning for your day, so good nutrition and great skin care are a must. Once you’ve got your skin care regimen in place, it’s time for your makeup.
Tip 1- The biggest mistake most brides make when it comes to their make up is overdoing it. Find a balance. You’re having your makeup done so that your husband to be will see your natural glowing skin. You’re also having to make a statement for the photos that will be taken. Whether you take a class or hire a professional, a good makeup artist can help you achieve this balance. It will be money well spent.
Tip 2- When choosing a brand of make up for your special day, mineral make up might flash white in your photos, so be mindful. Choose brands that cater to photography or a brand that is developed by a make up artist. Black Up, MAC and Bobbi Brown are three brands to consider but shop wisely and within budget. If it’s not a brand that you will use after your special day bring in a professional to do your make up for you.
Tip 3-Don’t be afraid to start over. If you’re not comfortable with your new look don’t be afraid to say so. Have a day where you try different looks with your makeup and take digital shots of the look. You can then decide what works for you and what doesn’t.
Tip 4-Don’t go overboard with shimmer. Yes, you want a beautiful glow to your cheeks and your shoulders but you want it to be a natural glow.
I’d love to hear from the blushing brides, let me know about your special day, your makeup adventure … what worked and what didn’t work for you. That’s if for this week!
