Coco Chanel once said, “Nature gives you the face you have at twenty, it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty”.    Has nature been kind to you?  Will your twenty something face end up being the fifty something face wanted.

Caring for your beautiful black skin doesn’t have to be complicated nor does it have to require a lot of time.

What makes and keeps your black skin healthy and radiant?

Most of you were born with flawless skin.  That’s right, look at a baby’s skin.  It is flawless.  As long as mother’s food is pure and healthy, baby’s skin will be pure and healthy.

Pure foods, organic foods are the key to healthy and radiant skin.  Mother’s milk is the pure food for babies but once you are not drinking mother’s milk, your food intake becomes even more important.

Your skin’s condition is a direct result of the food you eat.  When I mention pure food, I’m talking about foods that are clear of hormones, toxins and pesticides.

Is Water More Important Than Food for Your Skin?

One of the main components to great skin care is water, both internally and externally.  Your skin and body welcomes water.  In both instances the water can act as a cleanser and hydrator for you.

A recent study shows that you should drink half your body’s weight in ounces of water.  Example:  if you weight 140 lbs, you should be drinking 70 ounce of water a day.  Sound overwhelming?  If you do the math it breaks down to 8.75 eight-ounce glasses of water a day.  You could round it up to 9 – eight ounce glasses of water a day.

When you add teas to your liquid intake, you will be adding herbs that can bring healing to your body thereby feeding your skin with these herbs.

Anytime water is a major part of your intake, it will flush toxins from your body and your skin will show the results of this cleansing.

Do You Have A Black Skin Care Regimen

A basic skin care regimen will keep things simple in your life: Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing.

Just by doing these three basic steps your skin will look more healthy and radiant.

Cleansers are used to remove dirt and debris from your skin.  I suggest cream cleansers, whether your skin is normal, dry, mature or oily.  They are gentler on your skin and still get the job done.

Toners are used to bring balance to the pH level of your skin.

Moisturizers hydrate and add moisture to your skin. Moisturizers should be applied to damp skin. This will make your skin more absorbent of the product you’re applying.

Finally …

As you take a more holistic approach to caring for your beautiful black skin, you will see greater results.

Internal health sets the stage for external beauty.
