No matter what color your hair is or what race a person belongs to, gray hair will eventually appear. There is no set timeline on when this will happen, and it doesn’t always happen because of age.  The good news is that there are herbal blends that have proven their effectiveness in reducing the lightening of hair. Some even claim that these black hair tips help in promoting new growth of hair in some cases. As a result, these products are becoming more popular to prevent gray hair.

Though there is no concrete proof to suggest that the herbal blends can make hair grow, they can often restrict the graying of hair by increasing the strength of the hair follicles and promoting melanocytes to secrete melanin for longer durations.

Herbal products are derived from plants that are found at specific places such as Africa and have been used by the local people as homemade hair products for gray hair treatment.  Surprisingly, these products can be just as, or far more beneficial, than chemical related products. They can also be purchased at a lesser price, and with absolutely no side effects to boot. Herbal products also tend to be anti-fungal in nature and eliminate dandruff, which is a common condition in African Americans. They also penetrate your cuticle so that your hair never gets frizzy.

An example of an herb that can be used on graying hair is Brahmi, which is a north Indian herb for hair. It takes around five years for the herb to grow into maturity and this plant is known to promote hair growth and retain hair follicles and pigment. It promotes the scalp’s natural oil production to prevent the hair from prematurely aging.
Shikakai is another herb for hair and it contains 100 times more vitamin C than a grapefruit. It is said that this herb helps detoxify the blood in your scalp and stimulates hair growth.  Your hair becomes thick and lustrous because of the numerous anti-oxidants like Vitamin A, D, E and K.

Other herbs that can be used for  slowing the graying process or for just healthy hair are native in African American culture. Examples of these are African Pygeum, rosemary, nettle, and aloe vera. As a result, herbs are becoming a popular source for cure for hair loss, cure for dandruff, and gray hair treatment. Even scientists are following their effects and incorporating herbs into commercially available products.
