That’s right Black Hair Care and Anti Aging.  The word anti-aging has typically been associated with skin care but when you really think about it, your hair is an extension of your skin.

While I’m using one of the biggest “buzz” words in marketing, “anti-aging” it’s not just for baby boomers.  At every age level, we’re all looking for that secret ingredient that will help us with thinning, dryness, over-processing and breakage of our hair.

As you mature, some of you have taken to the bottle.  What bottle? The bottle of hair dye, that you’re using as you’re making an attempt to cover the gray.  Many hair dye products don’t bind well to gray hairs, so you’re faced with the color not lasting as long as you’d like or it’s turned your hair yellow.  For some of you, you’ve even experienced headaches from the hair dye itself, a clear sign that the ingredients aren’t right for you.

So What Anti Aging Ingredients Should You Look For in Your Black Hair Care Products?

It’s an easy guess as to what ingredient tops the list.  Shea butter! You’ve known for years that Shea butter is great for your skin but it’s just as effective in working for your hair.

Shea butter is good for dry hair.  When you add it to your black hair care regimen, you’ll begin to see your moisture starved hair respond to its natural oil.

A natural hair oil that contains jojoba, Shea, avocado and a few essential oils will make a great moisturizer for your scalp and hair.

Coconut Oil is another oil that’s great for your hair, especially thinning hair.  But using coconut oil alone can cause dryness for some of you. So blending it with hibiscus flower and Shea oil makes it twice as effective when caring for your hair.  Hibiscus is known to reduce the appearance of gray hair.  You can add the flower to a carrier oil or add a few drops of the essential oil and massage it to your scalp.

Coconut oil is one of the few natural oils that can actually penetrate your hair shaft to the cortex reducing protein loss.

Being used more in the world of ingredients is the Baobab Oil.  It’s often used in blends when treating fine or thinning hair. It’s known to restore and re-moisturize your skin and your scalp is part of your skin.  It absorbs easily and quickly.

Essential oils like Tea Tree, Lemongrass, Basil, Rosemary and Lavender also make great ingredients for your black  hair care products. You hair ages just as your skin ages, so the better the ingredients the better the condition and beauty of your hair.
