Beauty Solutions for Beautiful Black Skin

What is stopping you from a glowing complexion? Here’s how you can deal with common skin problems using natural beauty products at home.

Hyperpigmentation

If you suffer from annoying dark spots on the face, blame it on hyperpigmentation. Here’s the sad news: women of color are more prone to hyperpigmentation which is triggered by many factors, from sun exposure, to hormones and acne. The safest way to get rid of it is to try a home remedy, order from a company that provides products that are formulated specifically for your skin or visit the dermatologist if the condition is severe.

Here are a few home remedies you can try:

Cucumber Juice

Want to keep your beautiful dark skin hydrated in the spring and free from spots and blemishes in the spring? Cucumber juice is an effective remedy for treating skin pigmentation. Apply the juice alone or mix it with lemon juice and honey in equal proportions. Apply the mixture in affected areas and allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes, regularly once a day and then wash it off.

Potato

Potatoes are an effective solution for dark circles, melasma and other skin pigmentation problems. With continuous application, potatoes can lighten the affected areas. Simply peel a potato and rub freshly cut slices on the affected areas of your skin every day.

Acne

Most women are prone to suffer from acne as the temperature starts to rise in the spring. Contrary to popular belief, oily skin is not the only cause of acne. In fact, almost anybody can suffer from the condition. Keep your skin clear by cleansing, toning and moisturizing every day. While dirt cannot cause acne, bacteria can accumulate inside the skin and lead to common skin problems. In addition, stripping the skin of moisture can also aggravate a number of skin conditions.

Be watchful while selecting acne products for dark skin as by selecting the wrong cream, you may end up bleaching parts of your skin resulting in an utterly unattractive appearance. If you suffer from severe acne, head over to a dermatologist who has experience in treating African American skin.

Here’s a natural remedy you can try at home:

Tea Tree Oil

Among all the natural remedies out there, tea tree oil is the best solution if you desire beautiful glowing black skin. The essential oil works an effective anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial treatment. The oil can be used in numerous ways. Here’s how you can make a natural tea tree toner at home:

Ingredients
10 drops of tea tree essential oil
2 cups distilled water
2 tablespoons of dried herbs (you can use lavender, rosemary or chamomile for best results)
14 drops tincture of benzoin

Method

Grab a pot and heat the distilled water until it starts to boil
Upon reaching a boil, add the dried herbs and let it rest for half an hour
Strain the warm mixture into a separate bowl
Add the tea tree and benzoin oil
Transfer the entire mixture into a glass bottle
Shake to combine all the ingredients well
Apply the toner using a cotton ball after every time you wash your face. The solution can be stored in the fridge and will last about three months.
