It’s a new year and a new decade, time to be innovative with your beauty regimen. Just because resolutions are the “In” thing to do, it doesn’t mean they have to be complicated or boring. Complicated and boring means, you won’t do them.
Get creative and change your approach to getting beautiful black skin.
So how do you set goals for your skin? Start with things you know you can do without making it complicated.
1. Move your body. Yes it’s a play on words but I didn’t use the word “exercise” on purpose. The thought of exercising can shut a lot of you down. However, if you move your body doing things you love , you’ll burn a lot more calories than you think.
Salsa, swimming, tai chi, yoga and a good brisk walk are enjoyable activities you can do to move your body. Let’s see … salsa gives you hip, leg, shoulder action. Tai chi and yoga will build, strengthen and tone your muscles. Not to mention aid in proper breathing techniques.
Walking is about the easiest form of movement without injury, providing you don’t trip, you can do. You can get lost in the beauty of the scenery and before you know it you’ve walked a mile or two.
2. Nutrition for Your Skin can be fun. When you make the decision to eat for beauty, you’ll make food choices that will help with your health and beauty. You’ll actually begin to look younger.
Strawberries are known to help ward off wrinkles and age related dryness. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and are said to get rid of free radicals produced from ultra violet rays. Collagen keeps your skin firm and vitamin C is essential to the production of collagen.
Salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids. Eating at least two serving a week would be a welcome nutrient for your skin’s beauty. Not only are omega 3 fatty acids good for your skin, your heart will benefit also.
Tomatoes have been known to protect your skin fro sunburn. When eating tomatoes, adding olive oil will help your body absorb the beneficial carotenoids found in tomatoes.
Green foods – kale, collards, broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts and asparagus can help with cleansing your system. They provide chlorophyll to your blood.
3. Rest and Relaxation is extremely important to the beauty of your skin. When you lay down at night to sleep, you send the brain a signal to shut off. As the mind relaxes so does the body and your skin.
Don’t complicate your life and over think things. Your resolutions will manifest when done with ease. Add too many things to your list and you set yourself up for stress, overwhelm and frustration.
Not this year! Show yourself a lot of love by moving your body on a daily basis. Your skin will thank you for it.
That’s it for this week. As always,
