A friend of ours recently asked me to allow him to demonstrate a product that he’s selling.  He sells vacuum cleaners, the old fashion way, door to door.  Or should I say phone to phone.  He schedules the appointment before he shows up at your door.  Since I’m in the market for a new vacuum cleaner I allowed him to come and do his demonstration. Since I sell beauty and glamour to primarily women of color,  I’m always interested in knowing how other salespeople promote their products.

What does this have to do with Black Skin Care?  Everything!!!  The part of the demonstration that caught me by complete surprise was the part he did on a mattress in the guest room.  The mattress is new, slept on maybe three times.  He was able to show me dust mites.  Not only did he put them on a filter for my eyes to see, he went a step further and brought a microscope so that I could see them live.

For all of you that read my post, you know by now that my mantra is Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize.  This is more true than ever.  Not only are you working to prevent the natural elements like the sun and dirt in general from damaging your skin but you’re also having to contend with pollution from factories, cars, restaurant’s … you get the picture.  Now,  here I come to remind you that dust mites are in your bed.

You’ve heard this before, you just forgot.  So as a reminder, either you or your house keeper  might want to vacuum not just your mattress  but your walls, curtains, blinds, carpet and hardwood floors,  at least every three days just to keep the dust mites a bay.

As for maintaining your beautiful black skin now that I’ve reminded you that you’ve been sleeping with an enemy, I’d say a great body scrub  and a complete facial are in order.
