What stress has your African America skin encountered lately?  I was visiting family in Tennessee last week and while driving in from Atlanta, I had a chance to see some of the devastation that was left after the Tornado’s rolled in from Alabama.

I’ve lived in Florida and watched the Atlantic Ocean do some interesting things.  I’ve lived in New York through major storms and blizzards but I’ve never witnessed or lived through what I saw driving in.

At certain points on the interstate, you could see the path where the tops of trees were taken off.  But as we got closer to the Tennessee state line, we were getting warnings on flashing boards that certain exits were closed.  Then we were upon it, one town was completely gone.  This exit lost hotels, restaurants and independent businesses.  Ruby Tuesdays only had the door entrance and the part over the door that said “uby Tuesday’s” left standing.  The rest of what used to be Ruby Tuesday’s was gone along with McDonald’s, Taco Bell and  service station after service station.

When I arrived in Tennessee, trees were toppled, taken from the ground by their roots and most had landed on top of houses and cars.

Now I know that the last thing someone is probably thinking about,  is how well their skin is looking.   But the stress level will begin to show through their skin as the people work through their challenges.  Stress shows up everyday, this just happened to be Over The Top Stress.

The better you take care of your skin, the better it will be able to handle stressful situations.  Just working with a basic black skin care regimen, will enable you to maintain your youthful glow.

There’s nothing line a warm bath to relax tired muscles, sore feet and mental fatigue.  For some of you, Stress can show up when you least expect it.  For others it’s like walking with a constant pain in your side, it’s so much a part of your life until you don’t seem to know any other way of life.

But their is light at the end of the tunnel and that light could be something as simple as a warm bath.  So whether you’ve made it through flood waters, tornado’s or you’ve been able to walk away from a job that you Hated with a smile, give yourself some quiet time and your beautiful black skin will survive yet another stressful encounter.
