Looking to maintain that glowing skin you’ve worked so hard to achieve? Bring an esthetician and dermatologist into your world and see great changes.
Oftentimes clients will walk into a salon and give skin care therapist a run down of their regimen. It can be mind boggling to see the type of things used. Case in point:
I had a new client today that had an acne condition and when I asked her about her skin care regimen, she said,
My next question to her was, what do you use to cleanse your skin and how often did she use the products that she mentioned to me? Her answer was,
As we chatted I asked her of any medications that she might be taking. There were none listed on her chart. She casually mentioned that she had gone to the dermatologist and had been given a prescription. Because I did not have knowledge of what the prescription was for, the most that I could do on this particular day was to treat her for the acne condition that was present.
People, if a dermatologist has given you a prescription for a condition that you have with your skin, please don’t come to an esthetician thinking that we are going to do a service that will conflict with the diagnosis of the dermatologist.
Be forth coming with your medications and diagnosed skin conditions and we, estheticians, can do great things for your skin. Hold back and you could suffer longer with a skin problem than you’d have to.
That’s it for now, until next time,
Be radiant,
