Skin Care Tips for African AmericansSensitive skin my Black skin beauties?! If you are searching for sensitive skin products for your beautiful skin, choose those that contain ingredients that will be effective in cleansing and moisturizing.

There are some ingredients you don’t want to use on sensitive skin because they may cause de-pigmentation or hyper-pigmentation.   Choose the best products to help to protect your skin’s health and keep your skin-tone even and balanced.

Sensitive Skin in African American Beauties? What to Look For In A Product.

Look for black skin care products that contain natural vitamin E, which can help to address any hyper-pigmentation areas. You may have areas that are a bit oily, and others that are mildly dry. Such conditions can be brought on by using creams or lotions that are not formulated for sensitive black skin.

Your skin can be drier in areas that are hairless, so products that contain hyaluronic acid, passion fruit extract or jojoba can be found in face firming serums. They can be very helpful in keeping these areas well-moisturized. Products that have been created with the care of black skin in mind, can moisturize the drier areas of your skin without causing break-outs or overall greasiness.

What To Avoid In Sensitive Skin Products When Caring for Black Skin.

Paraben products have been in the news for the past five or so years with much controversy. They have been known to cause de-pigmenting in your skin. Some paraben’s have been banned from being used in European skin care products. It is still used in many other countries, so check the labels on any skin products you buy.

Petroleum is used as a base in many skin care products. Petroleum based products such as propylene glycol and wood based alcohol, can cause hyper-pigmentation. You will possibly see darker spots that are not in harmony with your overall skin tone. These types of ingredients are typically found in products marketed for black skin care. Not at Nyraju Skin Care.

If you have areas  of oily skin, check the labels of the products you use. Why? Because petrochemical ingredients as well as mineral oil and petroleum can cause your skin to be overly greasy. And while you think the shine you see is good, they don’t actually moisturize your skin properly.

Bleaching Creams are often used in the African American beauty market. Avoid black skin care products that use chemical agents that will bleach your skin. These tend to be very harsh, especially on sensitive skin. The essence of caring for black skin that is also sensitive is to select products that can be effective without being harsh.

Your Beautiful Black Sensitive Skin …

Sensitive skin is a condition of your skin not a skin type.  Itchy, irritated skin caused by using the wrong products on your skin type is a form of sensitive skin. Products that contain Vitamin C or Pumpkin seed oil my be sensitive for some and not for others.  So when purchasing products for sensitive skin be aware of  the ingredients in the products you choose.

That’s it for this week .. As always …
