Oily skin is usually thicker and shinier than healthy, normal skin. It may be more prone to pimples and other blemishes, because the sebaceous glands produce too much oil. Each individual has glands that produce different amounts of oils. During the years from twelve to twenty, sex hormones cause more oil secretion, which can lead to acne and inflammation. Caring for black skin that is oily requires more work than caring for black skin that is normal.

Although oily skin is more prevalent in teenage years, problems with oily skin can persist well into your adult years. As you age, your skin will generally become less oily. High humidity may trigger temporary excess oil production, as well.

Caring for black skin that tends to be oily involves moisturizing.  I know that sounds counterintuitive, but although oily skin seems “wet”, it is often dehydrated.  The lack of water in your skin may show up as wrinkles and fine lines.

You can find Vitamin C clay masque specially made for oily skin in NYRAJU’s selection of black skin care products.  Our African American skin care products work effectively to help you get rid of black heads and other vestiges of acne.

In general, there are some tips to consider when your black skin care involves dealing with excess oil. For instance, don’t use facial products that make your face shinier, like shimmers or bronzers. Use cosmetics that are oil-free and formulated for oily skin. Be sure not to reapply powders during the day, since powder build-ups can clog your pores. Remove all make-up nightly, and use a minimum SPF 15 sunscreen without oil when you’re out in the sun. These black skin care tips will help you get a proper handle on your oily skin.
