Top 3 questions for black skin care? Some of you would say there are more than three when it comes to the top ones asked. This can certainly be true. However, I’ll take a look at the ones you’ve asked about the most when you send me emails.
Let’s get started …
1. How do I lighten my dull skin?
This question always sends up red flags. Why? Because nine out of ten times, the real question is: how can I “safely” bleach my skin to look lighter?
When I address the original question, how do I lighten my dull skin? There are at least three things to consider:
2. How do I get rid of bags and dark circles under my eyes?
Did you know that not all bags and dark circles can be removed? Not the answer you were looking for … right?!
The first thing to do is take a look at your family tree. If you see a pattern of dark circles and puffiness under the eyes of your ancestors, this could be your lineage.
On the other hand … if you take in a lot of sugar, don’t get enough sleep or sit hour after hour in front of your computer … you’re creating a problem that can result in bags and dark circles.
Then there are lifestyle choices. If you’re a smoker, smoking creates a film on your skin. The skin under your eyes is some of the thinnest on your body. The film that’s created, settles on your skin causing dark circles as well as dark patches. You then look for products to remove the film.
Using the wrong products under your eyes will cause your skin to become dry and dark. So, look for products that are filled with skin loving ingredients that are light enough for your under eye area.
3. How do I have glowing skin?
To obtain glowing skin, it takes a wholistic approach. You’ll need to have a good skin care regimen in place. Cleanse, tone and moisturize. Then you will need to have a healthy eating lifestyle as well.
Lots of green foods. Half your body’s weight in water, daily. Eliminate all refined sugar. Season with fresh/dried herbs and spices.
You are what you eat and your skin is a mirrored reflection of what’s really going on inside.
If you’ve got more questions, send them to me. Or, you could list them in the comment section. I love it when you have questions. They allow me to stay on top of my game giving you the best information on caring for your beautiful black skin.
That’s it for this week. As always …
