Most of you that I speak with want to have your natural beauty shine through. You don’t like to wear a lot of makeup. On one side of the spectrum there’s the person who’s “high maintenance”, everything on the face is done (eyebrows, lashes, foundation …).
But, most of you want that natural healthiness with your skin. You look to achieve the appearance of having that youthful, natural “glowing” kind of skin. By the way, you can still get your brows done.
Believe it or not, wearing no makeup is part of what’s defined as the “New Natural”. Looking for a product that will give you this type of appearance is not hard, it’s just a matter of putting them together so that you have a regimen that’s going to provide you with the type of skin and appearance of the skin that you’re looking for.
When we talk about the beauty in your skin and the “no makeup” appearance, a lot of that has to work from within in terms of the foods you eat. Your skin reacts to the foods you eat. For today, we’ll talk about caring for your skin with topical products.
A Good Black Skin Care Regimen
So let’s take a look at a good skin care regimen. With that regimen you’ll be cleansing, toning and moisturizing. You’ll exfoliate once a week if not twice and you’ll use a mask. The products that you use and the ingredients that are within them will be part of what gives you this “no makeup” look that you’re wanting to achieve. You’ll want to look for ingredients like green tea in products, they are considered to be your anti-oxidants. Often times they’ve been known to help in combating inflammation.
If you’re looking at natural oils like jojoba oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, medowfoam oil and argan oil, you’re looking at oils that are going to help nourish your skin. All of this will work, but it will work for some of you by using less of it. It all depends on your location. If you’re within a warm and/or tropical environment, you can use the oils, you just don’t need as much as if you were in a cooler climate where you would need to use more. It’s all just a matter of finding what works best for you. Hint: It’s always best to use oils on moist skin. It absorbs better and helps hydrate your skin.
Your Neck and Décolleté Should Always Be Included In Your Daily Regimen
Another thing to consider in your regimen while working with your skin is to make sure you treat your neck and down to the top of your breast line. From the top of your forehead to the top of your breast line is to be treated as one unit. When you wear your v-neck tops, you want to make sure that your skin has been treated the same way and will have the same soft supple appearance as your face. Your neck and décolleté (the portion of your chest right above your breast) is just as important as your face.
These are portions that you expose on a daily basis, especially when the weather is warm. So keep this in mind as you purchase your products and have your regimen in place for your skin. If you’re looking for what’s known as the new natural, very little to no makeup, you’ll want to keep these particular things in mind as you cleanse and work with your skin.
For those of you that want to wear your makeup, your skin will look a whole lot better if you follow this regimen as well. It’s like applying paint to a blank canvas that’s been prepped for the artist.
Don’t forget to drink your water and eat your fruits and vegetables. Healthy from the inside will aid in your natural beauty on the outside.
That’s it for this week. If you like what you’ve read, please share it with a friend or two. As Always …
