Natural Body Butter Scrub
Exfoliate With a Natural Body Butter Scrub

There are certain body treatments to take into consideration when it comes to African American skin. We’re going to take a look at the natural approach to body treatments.  You’ve heard it quite often that your skin is the largest organ of your body.

It plays a crucial roll in the elimination of waste and toxins by way of perspiration and sometimes you see this elimination popping up as boils, breakouts or cysts.  But when you can keep your skin clean (externally), you will use certain treatments and regimes for this to take place.

Let’s take a look at Four Body Treatments for Smooth Black skin

Body Brushing is the treatment which you use a body brush and you brush your skin starting at your feet and working your way up towards your heart.  You are not an animal, so you’ll want to gently brush your skin.  You’ll be surprised at the level of buildup that has occurred over the years, especially if you’ve never done this.  It could take you a few treatments to eliminate all of the dead skin cells.

Dry brushing is a method of exfoliation and one of the benefits is that it can assist your skin in naturally detoxifying itself.  The dry brush exfoliation method stimulates your blood and lymph flow, while it’s removing the dead skin cells.

It’s also been known to strengthen your immune system and enhance your skins ability to eliminate toxins as well.

Body Scrubs – You’ve seen them in salt scrubs or body butter scrubs and you can use these particular scrubs in addition to body brushing. When using sea salt, it should be worked into a paste with essential oils or mud to help the condition of your skin.

Once you’ve exfoliated your skin using sea salt. you can follow up with a mud or herbal wrap.

Herbal Wraps are another form of body treatment but they are not new.  They’ve been part of body rejuvenation and detoxification for years.  Herbal wraps use an ancient technique of herbal solutions that are combined with compression using soaked gauze.  They are used to reshape and contour your body.  Some of you use them for pure pleasure and relaxation.

Mud wraps are some of the most effective treatments that have been used for centuries when it comes to treating your body. Mud is used from head to toe in the beauty and spa industry. When you look at the ancient use of mud and its healing power, you’re talking about something that’s anything but a myth.  The high concentration of magnesium, sodium, phosphates, bromides and other minerals actually help diminish the signs of aging and help alleviate acne.

Some but not all

These are some of the major treatments that are used when it comes to body treatments for African American skin.  Try them for yourself!  See which ones actually work for you.  You might like them all.

That’s it for this week, As always …
