I’ve listened to so many black women talk about their bodies and what they don’t have … don’t have big breast … don’t have a big butt … don’t have enough weight … the list goes on and on.
So your butt is flat and you don’t have what is perceived as the ‘traditional’ black woman’s butt, what do you do? In the November 2012 issue of Essence Magazine, Apryl Michelle Brown talks about what happened to her when she wanted to solve her “pancake” booty dilemma.
Sometimes our impatience with ourselves gets us in serious trouble. Whether this impatient nature alters our looks or challenges our health, as Black Women, we’ve got to learn to love who we are and how we came to this planet.
Butt To Flat …
Apryl Michelle Brown wanted to solve her flat butt challenge, so she opted for a certain beauty treatment that cost her the limbs on her body and almost her life.
She came forward to share what happened to her. There are women in general that share in her horror but how many black women have come forward to talk about the price they’ve paid in search of “unnatural” beauty.
Breast To Small …
Have you noticed this overwhelming urge to change the very being that you came to this planet as. You think your breast are too small, so you’re ready to get implants. What happened to the natural ebb and flow of life and your body’s natural development?
Some of us are so ready to have “big boobs” until we risk our health all in the name of cleavage. I didn’t have big breast or cleavage until I was four months pregnant. My moment of “celebrity” in the world of big breast lasted until I stopped breast-feeding.
That was the “natural” ebb and flow of things. Evidently big boobs were not part of my journey on the planet at this time.
Body To Thin …
Adding extra pounds to your body can be a good thing but what happens when the weight you’re adding threatens your health?
For some of you adding extra pounds means adding body parts. You set out to create the perfect woman’s body, when in essence the perfect woman’s body is the one that developed for you after puberty.
You’re in your perfect woman’s body, Love It, Like It, Enjoy It!
