Lose those extra pounds?! Is it time to lose those extra holiday pounds! Or any day pounds for that matter. To lose weight and keep the pounds from becoming a permanent fixture, burning calories is one way to do it. Being active throughout your day can add up to big weight loss. Not everyone likes the environment of a gym so planning activity around the seasons is a great way to get exercise and keep the pounds away.
Want to lose those extra pounds? You can start with these three simple exercises. Be consistent and you’ll get results.
Crunches – You can start with crunches in bed. Simply bring your knees to your chest 25-50 times before you hit the floor, this will rev up your energy and slowly tone your belly, And … you can burn 15 to 20 calories in less that 5 minutes.
Walking gives you an opportunity to enjoy the scenery. Everything from store windows to walking the trails around the lakes. Start with 15 minutes a day and you can burn up to 375 calories.
Dance – Do a little dance -Salsa, Step Step Side to Side, Belly Dance-what ever you like doing that will get the body in motion. Talk about a great way to burn calories while have fun, this is it. Dancing will have you dropping pounds without even realizing it.
Tai Chi is one of the best known moving meditation exercises. Not only does it calm your mind, it strengthens your muscles. It aids in balance as well. One of the things I’ve learned over the years is to be patient with myself. Tai chi forces you to move thoughtfully through your moves.
There were times when I thought I wasn’t getting any benefits from my basic moves. I was wrong. You’ll feel that your body has worked muscles when you finish. You’ll also feel a great sense of relaxation … at least I did.
Yoga is another moving meditation exercise. Omg, I used to get so bored trying to do yoga. This was at a time when I was rushing through life. If it wasn’t a fast paced walk or aerobic class (did I just date myself), I wasn’t interested. Things have changed.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love a good fast paced walk and an upbeat walk-a-mile video. It’s just that now, I’ve found balance and can appreciate them all.
There’s no time like the present to lose that extra pound or two or three. Don’t think about it. Start moving and watch the new you come into focus.
That’s it for this week. As always …
