3 Causes of Puffiness and Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

Puffiness and dark circles under your eyes? What could be causing it?

We’ve learned from experience that some puffiness/bags and dark circles can be minimized with a cream or serum. They add moisture to the under eye area and soften your skin. Depending on the ingredients, they can often decrease the puffiness/bags.

Some serums that are made with essential oils have been known to lighten dark circles.

Here are 3 Possible Reasons you might be seeing puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.

Aging – It’s not enough that we have to age, we’ve got to also contend with the fact that the skin is going to sag.

And yeah, those eye … The skin around your eyes is delicate. The more you pull and tug the more you speed up drooping and saggy skin. As you mature thee tissue structures and muscles supporting your eyelids weaken.

Your skin begins to sags and the fat that is normally confined to your eye area can move into the area below your eyes. This area is also known to accumulate fluid.

Hence puffiness and bags.

Lack of Sleep – Many of you know the lack of sleep can wreak havoc on already stressed skin. Bags and puffiness somehow get get bigger and more pronounced when you’re tired.

Getting at least eight hours of sleep, will help tremendously with how your look and feel. Lack of sleep can also breakdown your immune system. A compromised immune system can cause puffiness, bags and dark circles under your eyes.

Heredity – Your bags, puffiness and dark circles just might be heredity. Have you looked at generations of pictures and noticed any similarities?

Often times you’ll see generations of pictures with the same similarities … puffiness, bags … dark circles. I noticed the bag/puffiness with my dad and dark circles with my mom. Go figure.

One thing I noticed though, for some reason, for me, when I increase my water intake, the bags/puffiness minimize. It’s possible that dehydration can cause puffiness/bags for some people.

Which one of these is your cause?

You might find yourself with a combination of one or two of the causes. Lack of sleep and aging or heredity and lack of sleep. Either way one will only make the other more magnified.

The key is to age gracefully, get plenty of rest and if you’re one to inherit the family trait, wear it well.

That’s it for this week. As always,

Dedicated to Your Beauty,
