Black skin care not only includes your face, your entire body should be part of an everyday ritual especially your feet. Your feet carry all of your body weight everyday and are often forgotten about or neglected, especially during the colder season.
While thick socks and warm boots have kept your feet warm and dry during the cold months, they may also have contributed to less-than-fresh odors from your feet. So, if you’re looking to add freshness and revive your tired feet, the solution you seek could be hiding out in your kitchen pantry or bathroom medicine cabinet.
Green tea often said to have antibacterial properties, is also known to reduce swelling. Standing or working on your feet all day can cause you to have swollen feet more often than you’d like to count.
Lavender essential oil often referred to as the mother of essential oils when it comes to everyday skin challenges, delivers a soothing and calming aroma while epsom salt helps soften and exfoliate your skin.
Combined, these two ingredients offer you the perfect foot soak for your tired feet, whether it’s from dancing or walking one too many miles in your favorite pair of pumps. Want to feel like you’ve been pampered for hours at a luxurious spa, give it a try!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup Epsom salt
2 tea bags or 2 teaspoons of loose green tea
2 teaspoons fresh dried lavender buds
1/2 teaspoon of lavender essential oil
1 jar with lid
Bucket or Soaking tub for your feet.
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Store in a jar with a tight lid until it’s ready for use. When you’re ready to experiment with your new found solution, place the beautifully fragranced salts into a container large enough to fit both feet and add approximately 8 quarts of very warm water. Give yourself a good 20 minutes or until your feet feel so soft and so clean clean.
Once you’re done, treat yourself to an oil blend and massage your feet. You can combine 2 ounces of olive oil, 2 ounces of jojoba oil and 2 ounces of grapeseed oil adding 4 to six drops of lavender essential oil to create your massage oil.
Using just enough to coat your feet without leaving them feeling as though you’re sliding down a slippery slope. You should not only have feet soft as a baby’s bottom, you should sleep like a baby also. By the way, you can also use this recipe as a relaxing salt for your bath.
That’s it for this week. As always …
